Driving through the countryside, seeing all the dense forest on both sides of the roads, always brings to me the thought of escape from drudgery. I often feel as though I could live unencumbered by the petty hubris of my life if I could live in a shack in the forest. Or maybe I could go deep into the woods and build a dwelling in the trees, or out of trees, or even in the ground. Once settled in my new home I would be peaceful, unhurried and focused on what really matters.
